About the brand
Askew London was founded in 1979 in London by Susan Askew, beginning as a small family-run jewellery business. The company became known for its highly decorative, handcrafted statement pieces, particularly necklaces, earrings and brooches.
Askew's distinctive style draws heavily on Egyptian, exotic and historical influences, with oversized and theatrical designs that have a wonderful vintage feel. Pieces were traditionally made by hand using brass and copper alloys, often finished with 24ct gold or silver plating, semi-precious stones and high-quality Japanese art glass.
A particularly interesting feature of Askew's work is the incorporation of original vintage jewellery components from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, combined with new materials to create unique or very limited-edition pieces.
