About the brand
Sarah Coventry was an American costume jewellery company founded in 1949 by Charles H. Stuart. Rather than selling through traditional jewellery shops, the brand used a home-party sales model, with independent representatives presenting the jewellery to friends and customers.
The jewellery was designed to be affordable and fashionable, with collections regularly reflecting the trends of the time. Pieces included brooches, necklaces, bracelets and earrings, often featuring gold- or silver-tone metal, faux pearls, coloured glass and crystals.
Sarah Coventry became hugely popular during the 1950s–1970s, making stylish jewellery accessible to a much wider audience.
The company closed in 2003, but vintage Sarah Coventry remains popular with collectors, particularly for its extensive range of mid-century designs and statement pieces.
