About the brand
Pierre Cardin brought his futuristic, avant-garde approach to jewellery, just as he did to fashion. From the 1960s onwards, his costume jewellery reflected his fascination with space, geometry and modern design.
Rather than traditional, delicate jewellery, Cardin favoured bold, sculptural and often geometric forms, using materials such as gold- and silver-tone metal, enamel, glass and crystals.
His jewellery perfectly captured the optimism of the Space Age, with many pieces looking remarkably modern even today.
Vintage Pierre Cardin jewellery from the 1960s and 1970s is particularly interesting to collectors, especially the more unusual sculptural designs that reflect his distinctive futuristic aesthetic.
