About the brand
Attwood & Sawyer was founded in 1956 in Porthcawl, South Wales, by Horace Attwood and his business partner Mr Sawyer. The company became renowned for producing high-quality British costume jewellery, often inspired by historic and royal jewellery designs.
Their pieces were particularly known for 22ct gold plating, Swarovski crystals, colourful enamel and intricate detailing, with spectacular brooches, necklaces, bracelets and earrings forming some of their most recognisable designs. They famously created reproductions inspired by the jewellery of the Duchess of Windsor.
Attwood & Sawyer also became closely associated with the glamour of television and entertainment, supplying jewellery for Dallas and Dynasty, as well as for events such as the Miss World competition.
The company was acquired by Buckley Jewellery in 2001, including its archive of designs. Today, vintage Attwood & Sawyer is highly regarded for its exceptional craftsmanship, bold designs and unmistakable British glamour.
